Cycling_21_Sep_2013

The Sun was very bright today, even at five in the evening.... After realizing the 'engine of my cycle is me' recently, who pedals it and taking it to places, decided to do cycling today as well....

Yeah! Got my tee and trousers on me and checked the air in my Schwinn Bike. Then enabled the tracking location option in my mobile, and started riding my cycle from my home by enabling the Map My Ride app in my Lumia device. Within a few seconds of driving, I decided to go to St. Thomas Mount, not just the mount area, but driving till the top. I remember the place faintly since I had not been there in the last five years... But still, drove my known route, via Nesapakkam, Ramapuram and reached Nandambakkam. Though my legs are busy pedaling, my eyes never fail to watch the Jewelry Expo 2013 poster in Chennai Trade Centre, which comes in my left side. In the meanwhile, mind started planning for tomorrow's program to bring my partner, so that she enjoys the expo.

Few seconds after Chennai Trade Centre, came the Chennai War Memorial in the right hand side. Without any second thought, parked my cycle in front of the Cemetery gate.

My Lumia got busy clicking pictures of the memorial. Though, I been there for five minutes, but thought only about the soldiers sleeping there. What would the soldiers be thinking in their last five minutes. The enemy would have bombed their camps, they would be bleeding and know for sure, that they would be dying in another few minutes, what would they think? Would they think of their mother, wife, daughter or any other beauty queens. Oh my God, Soldier's life is fantastic till they have control over their enemy. I paid due respect to them, and continued my ride towards the mount.

Few minutes drive from there is Aasif Brothers Restaurant tempted much, but still, I resaid my mission to myself and decided to see straight to the road and kept pedaling faster there. I am sure some drivers would have abused me, since I was driving in the wrong side of the road to reach the mount. Though, I had not harmed anyone. In the base of the mount, looked at the St. Patrick's Church and took a pause for a while and clicked some pictures there too.
Resumed my journey after few minutes, by enquiring the route to the mount top from passers by. I noticed there are too many shops with Christian names in that area. I asked a question to myself, why do I notice majority of Christians in the Sea & Mount areas generally. I shall analyze and research on that much better and should get enough ideas on that. Finally, got the steep part of the mount. The gatekeeper stopped me and confirmed if am going to ride to the top by cycle. Good part is that he had not collected any entry fee from my end, since I was not having any change. I had experienced the  toughest part of cycling when climbing on top. Saying repeatedly to myself that I should not give up. I kept changing my gears often, but still rode to the top. Yeah! Finally I did it!
